About
Hi, I'm Mary
I'm a CG lighting artist based in New York, with a BFA from the School of Visual Arts.
I started in 3D at SVA's pre-college program in high school, went on to study Computer Art and Visual Effects there, and moved to Montreal to light feature films at MPC. I have a strong background in CG lighting, shading and rendering, from single shots up to whole sequences.
Since MPC I've worked on the production side at Framestore, The-Artery and now PREYMAKER, tracking how shots are scheduled, reviewed and delivered. I'm open to lighting roles, freelance, contract or staff.
Lighting
Lit and managed sequences of up to 50 shots on feature films, kept every shot in a sequence consistent and optimized for rendering, and led several artists at a time. Ran technical tests on assets and shot packages, flagged schedule risks to production, did lookdev and shading work, tested MPC's internal lighting tools and taught team masterclasses on lighting practice and stereo rendering.
Shot lighting on feature films in teams of 13 to 30: character, creature and FX-integration lighting, light rigs, and shaders and comps when production asked for them. Credited on Spaceman (Netflix).
Ten weeks of feature-film lighting and compositing in Katana and Nuke, taught by working industry artists.
Production
Coordinating VFX for advertising with producers and executive producers.
Client contact for VFX on film and advertising. Tracked shots and deliveries across projects, assigned shots to artists, checked work in progress against deadlines and ran reviews and dailies. Worked on three films that premiered at TIFF 2026: Being Heumann, The Debut and The Julia Set.
Ran the New York studio's front of house: client hospitality, the shoot kit, travel, studio events, and support for production with clients, purchases and data transfers.
